I think I'm the idiot on TV!

Anyone want a few almonds?

Help yourself to the ones on the floor!!

So, I'm thinking of those horrible infomercials where a sarcastic announcer narrates as a bumbling idiot tries to do a simple household chore like straining water into a standard collandar, but ends up spilling the water and the pasta all over the kitchen counter top. "Has THIS ever happened to YOU?!" or "Tired of trying to drain awkward pasta pots? Well, the pot-top collander is for YOU!" I always laugh at those things thinking "what idiot can't drain pasta?!" Well, I think I must be that idiot!

My list of kitchen trials and tribulations continues to grow at an alarming rate. Like the day I tried to pull a spice from the cabinet and ended up breaking an entire bottle of Worcestershire sauce all over EVERYTHING (my kitchen smelled like a steak restaurant for days and all the cabinets had to be cleaned!) Or...like the day I pulled out the baby bathtub from under the cabinet and it in turn pulled out my nice cake plate and cover which broke everywhere. This morning: I tried to open a HUGE, Costco-sized bag of almonds while I absent-mindedly stared out the window at the construction in our back yard. Well, instead of just opening the bag, I tore the whole thing open and almonds went flying everywhere. Earlier, I also managed to pour the milk into my cereal in just a way so that the liquid caught an edge of my cereal and, instead of going into the bowl, it made a neat little milk waterfall onto the counter. See....I think I AM the idiot on TV!!!

ON another note, Brady and I are at home alone today while Logan and Aiden went to the children's museum with me-maw and grandpa. It's like I have just one child again. Now I remember what it's like to entertain an infant...here he is enjoying his gymini while I "work" on the floor beside him.

Check out the Bonito paci (he IS beautiful, right?!). My friend joked that she's going to spread a rumor that we're doing some sort of early spanish language training with our infant (the truth is that he is particular about his paci and the kind of nipple it has...these were the ONLY ones we could find! We have another one that says "Ammo A Mama"

About Me

My photo
Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.
