Racing to the First Day of School

Have you ever seen a group of children literally run to school? So much so that the parents have to yell to slow down so they can keep up? Have you ever seen a group of said school children be escorted by a rowdy crew of 5 other siblings who wanted to run just as fast? Here are 2 pictures of just such a scene:

Please slow down – I need to take some pictures people….memories to last a life time, people!!!! Check out the new “messenger bag” Logan requested this year. It’s got LMH on it as does his spiffy new, matching, lunch box.

And now rewind to the breakfast scene – who knew I would have another use for a “1” candle? We sang “happy first grade to you”. Logan wanted to know why the card had no money in it. Um….because I clearly don’t have to pay you to go to school when you RUN and dismiss your mommy the second you see your new classroom door. Love it!!!! Go Logan – you rock with your, “ain’t afraid of having fun and I’m outta here to get smart” attitude!!!

He read all the words on the front of the card (basically) by himself!

See the candle on the french toast? What could be more festive? ;0)

One more rewind to last night. Brian said I packed too much food! I actually had to re-pack some of it this morning because I was so eager to get everything ready “just so” that I didn’t put the lunch box in the fridge…I put it his backpack – overnight!! I also took out 1 or 2 things this morning after I let him pick what he wanted…plus I wasn’t sure if they have snack time. God forbid I let my child starve! The note went in his lunch as well as: a small mirror, a container of 2 baby wipes and some hand sanitizer. Love my little messy eater!! I gave him instructions to check his face and wipe it off after lunch cause I’m not there to do it anymore.

Brian even documented me writing the note!

First grade! I wish I had been there and then again I'm almost glad I wasn't because I would have been crying.

About Me

My photo
Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.
