Kona’s Cone
Brady and I picked Kona up from the vet this morning. She had been there for 2 days getting spayed. Apparently she was trying to lick her wound…which is not permissible
I know it’s not a big deal, but this cone thing stressed me out immediately! The biggest annoyance is that it’s supposed to stay on for the next 10 days. I’m not sure that thing would even fit in her crate and…well…it does nothing for her cute face! ;) Before heading home, Brady and I swung into the local pet store. My original thought (suggested by the tech at the vet’s office) was a sweater of some sort that would cover the incision on her belly so she couldn’t get to it, but all the little sweaters were too short on the tummy. I did, however, come upon some medical wrap for pets that has a bitter substance on it to discourage biting and licking!
I swear I didn’t wrap it that tight…she’s tiny under all the fur!
Brady took this picture so it’s not the best, but we decided she should cover her bandage with her Bears jersey. I mean, if I came home from surgery, I would want my sweats on too…it just makes sense in my human head!
And now…only 10 days of this until she can get the stitches out. Poor thing!
About Me
- Renay
- Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.
