Last Monday, when the boys were off for President’s day, they all spent some time playing outside, swinging on the swings, riding their bikes, throwing the lacrosse ball around and kicking a soccer ball. The weather has been so random this winter, I think it felt Spring-like to them. Aiden came in and said, “do you want to know how happy I am?” Excited and revved up by his outdoor adventures, he drew this 100% happy picture:_DSC0083

And over to the other end of the spectrum, yesterday there was no Kindergarten for Aiden, a short day for Logan and Brady was allowed to skip (which I usually let him do when the other boys are home before his afternoon preschool begins). We had a pretty nice winter storm that left roughly 2-3 inches of the white stuff (on the driveway…where I wrestled with the snow blower to get it off). In the morning hours while Logan was gone, I brought out some paper and told Aiden & Brady to draw a “snow day”. This is Aiden’s:

He was mad because I gave him a piece of paper that already had some blue scribbles in the top corner. We worked together to make it into a nice cloud. _DSC0084

Here is our (apparently 4-story) house! Brady and I are downstairs, daddy is on the 2nd floor, Logan and Aiden are upstairs on floor #4. My (very mini) van is on the driveway and we have a nice fire going as you can see from the chimney smoke. I was quite impressed by Aiden’s house drawing…you would think we had owned a dollhouse before :) _DSC0085

Here is Brady’s “snow day”. The square is our house. The red figure inside is Brady._DSC0088

There is a terrible snow tornado outside. Kona (in brown) is rescuing a cat from the storm (cat shown in pink) _DSC0089

There is a snowman of course and he has a brown pipe._DSC0090

Logan’s most recent art work is in the form of cursive! They are starting cursive this year in 2nd grade and he was pleased as punch the other day to show me that he taught himself how to write his name. He wrote it on a piece of paper when he got home Monday and carried it around showing his brothers (who don’t know how to read cursive so I had to verify that it did indeed say Logan)._DSC0087

I found this in his pocket Tuesday afternoon. Working on his last name now :)_DSC0091

I just LOVE 100% happy. That is the cutest. Great snow day artwork. Seems like you have the model for your next home! Logan's cursive is terrific!

About Me

My photo
Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.
