Divide and Conquer

Last Sunday, our family had a bit of a scheduling conflict. We had planned to participate in the Juvenile Diabetes walk, but later found out that Brian's "family Bear's game" was the same day. We decided to divide and conquer after trying numerous times to switch our tickets with one of the other super fans (hard to explain). Anyway, Brian took Logan to his very first Bear's game along with our friend Rich and his son Will. The boys all had a GREAT time at the game.

Meanwhile, I took Aiden and Brady to the walk along with most of our neighborhood friends. We met at Kristin and Joel's house (our team was walking for their daughter Kate), caravaned through McD's for coffee and then on to the walk site. After the walk, we all had lunch and headed back home. After naps, we had a fun playdate with Karen, Paige and Cole while we waited for the boys to get back from the game. They managed to arrive home much earlier than anticipated so we all had dinner together. From start to finish, a super fun day for everyone!

I took the camera on the walk so this is the only pic I have of Logan and Brian heading off to pick up Rich and Will for the game. Brian has some more pictures on his phone, but so far he's being stingy about sharing them :)
At the walk, we parked our cars and took buses to the walk site. Here are the kids on the bus: Jeff with Chewy and my boys all crammed in one seat.

I took my wagon to the walk. Here are the boys for the first um....100 yards of the walk

Kristin's sister somehow ended up in a game of chase with all the kids. It was super cute, but we had to drag them off the poor girl since she was done running WAY before they were done chasing!
Susan pulls Maddie and Ashley in my wagon (not her kids, not her wagon...doesn't it always end up like this?!)
Brady didn't want to sit down, he was totally into jogging the whole way....at least for a while. I could barely keep up with him since he was off and running as was Aiden...sometimes in opposite directions! I spent a good deal of time carrying him on my shoulders so he would stay with me.
Finally, Anna convinced him to share a stroller with Maddie. Here, Anna pushes them along. This IS her stroller, but not her kids. Her daughter was still in my wagon, now with Aiden, which was at that time being pulled by Pete. I tried to push these two for a while and it was HARD work!
Pete doesn't realize that he's pulling two wagons! Chad had mine, but AJ (in the back of Pete's) wanted the handle so Chad gave it to him. Go Pete Go!

I think I had Brady in a stroller alone by the end of the walk and Aiden hitched a ride on Jeff's shoulders underneath "the balloon rainbow". Here, he reaches up and tries to touch it.

Awesome. That description of musical kids at the walk was great!

Looks like a great turn-out for the walk - especially Kate's friend and family! Not an easy thing with that many small kids! Way to go!! I want more pictures of the Bear's game, Brian!!

About Me

My photo
Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.
