Our First Graduation
Last Friday, Logan had his graduation ceremony for pre-K. It was held in a tent on our local golf course. The whole thing was just super cute. There were 2 pre-K classes graduating at the same time. First, the kids sang a couple songs (What A Wonderful World…which made mommy totally tear up, and “Graduation Day” set to the tune of I’ve been Working on The Railroad). Each child got to walk down the aisle, received a hat and a diploma and had their “what I want to be when I grow up” answer read to the crowd. I was DYING laughing at some of the answers. One little girl wanted to be “a fairy princess” when she grows up. Get in line sweet-heart! I applied for that job and they’re not hiring! When it was his turn to walk down the aisle, Mrs. Triphahn said, “When we first asked Logan this question, he said he wants to be an astronaut, but today he decided that he wants to be a singer”. Did I tell you guys that Logan is going to form a band someday? The name keeps changing, but his original thought was “The Grave Digger Diggers”…don’t ask me where that came from :)
After graduation, everyone had juice and cookies. Who could ask for more?!
This is a picture of the kids filing in to sing their songs. I didn’t realize until the end of the event that my pictures were all blurry not because of the over lit tent, but because the lens had tiny finger prints on it (I won’t name names…whatever…it was Brady). Anyway, I have a picture of just Logan walking down for his diploma, but it’s just awful and blurry.
This is a bad pic, but I included it because it gives a pretty good view of the tent. This is a shot of the kids (located behind the giant balloon) singing their songs. “I see skies of blue…clouds of white, bright blessed days…dark sacred nights…and I think to myself…what a wonderful world” sniff sniff.
Mrs. Triphahn and Logan…smudgy
I finally figured out the problem and cleaned the lens. Logan is second from the left on the top row in blue and yellow stripes.
Enjoying cookies and juice by the sign out front. Aiden is yelling “yeah Logan!” Aiden feels the need to yell things in pictures.
“Brady put your juice cup down”
This is Logan and his friend Kevin. One day I was helping out in class and Logan was telling Kevin how he lives at 554 xxxxxx. Kevin said “ya! I live at 554 too!” I thought to myself…”sure Kevin…sure ya do”. Well, come to find out, as I was addressing Logan’s birthday invites a couple months later, that Kevin actually does live at a house with the number 554! What are the odds?!
Aiden, Logan and the other kids run around the putting green area for a while. By the way mom (and grams), you would be proud. Most of the other boys wore shorts, but I put Logan in slacks. (just ignore the crocs as we don’t buy “dress shoes” around here…but he wore slacks!!!)
About Me
- Renay
- Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.

Oh, so cool!! I would love to have been there and cried right along with you! Yes - I am proud that Logan is dressed appropriately for his first graduation day - good job!! LOL!! First that some litte girl thinks she can get the job of Fairy Princess before you're hired, and second that Logan is going to form a rock band named the Grave Digger Diggers. Good thing you guys have a big basement AND a garage - both required for the birth of all famous bands!
Okay - first, I LOVE the pic of Brady next to that graduation sign. second, I thought crocs were considered "dress shoes" ;) that's all I buy here too for the boys. third, does Logan know that his dad will want to join his band? and lastly...I can't tell you how much Aiden reminds me of Sam...I can see that personality come through in the pics and I love it. :) Miss you guys!!
Wow Logan made it .... sure he couldn't have done it with out an awesome daddy.
