Old Is New Again
The other day I came across a train that was probably the first one Logan ever had (when he was about 2). It was retired into a toy bin in our laundry room after the expiration of Logan’s train love. Since Aiden never had a “train phase”, I all but forgot about it. When I saw it again, I knew instantly that Brady would LOVE it (being that he is currently WAY into Thomas). The boys weren’t here at the time so I replaced the batteries and set it aside. I also found a couple train conductor hats and a whistle.
When the boys got back, I gave Brady the train (and tried not to mention that it was yet another hand-me-down). He was SO happy. He kept saying, “you got for me?!! Thank you mommy!!” He also asked where it came from…I just muttered something incoherent. This experience has me wondering what else I have around here that could be wrapped up for Christmas or a birthday… ;)
Logan was suddenly re-living his love of trains and helped Brady build a tunnel.
The next day the boys set up a train with their chairs. They also went to the basement and did some GeoTrax that afternoon…that hasn’t happened for a while!
About Me
- Renay
- Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.

Hilarious! I just donated that train to my sister's clinic! We LOVED that one! Hey - a hand-me-down present that is wrapped already assembled with batteries in is a GREAT idea!
Yay for the trains coming back out! Little Brady is just too cute. So glad someone else is getting good use from all those cool trains - and very cool that that Logan and Aiden are sharing in the fun.
