The Cutest Costume That Never Was…Plus Thoughts on Pay Back Time
Sometime last month, we started seeing Halloween costumes. Most notable were some super funny and cute ones at Old Navy. For some reason, we were in there a couple times in one week. During each visit, Brady would grab this cuddly-looking (and SO adorable) cheeseburger costume. He wouldn’t put it down. The second time we saw it, he kept saying, “it’s mine!”. A mom passing by said, “I so don’t mean to eavesdrop, but PLEASE let him be a cheeseburger for Halloween! He would make the cutest cheeseburger”. I had a really good coupon with me so I bought the costume. Brady even wore it that day to wake Brian up from his afternoon nap (too funny). However, about a week later, Bear started saying that he now wanted to be “sew-per man” (Superman). Each time I would tell him, “no…you’re going to be a cheeseburger, remember?” And to that, I would get something like: “NO! I wanna be sew-per man!!” This went on for at least 3 weeks. So…walking through Wal-Mart yesterday, I spotted a relatively cute, flannel superman costume. Brady did too and pointed and begged and said, “that one that one”…so we just went ahead and bought it (I can’t let my baby be sad on the best day of the year!) Logan picked out a crazy ninja costume and Aiden is going as Drago… who is a Bakugan (even though the boys don’t watch the show, they really like playing with Bakugans and Aiden LOVED the costume when he spotted it in Target…it’s like a dragon).
Before I take it back to the store, I needed to get some pictures of the cutest Halloween costume that never was…
I had to beg and PLEAD with Brady to get him into this costume. He’s mad about it so he’s making his “monster” face.
Ok…so I say this all the time about cute kids, but couldn’t you just EAT him?! Plus look how warm for chilly Halloween tick-or-treating! Oh well…gotta give him some credit for sticking to his guns on the sewper man thing.
And finally, some brief thoughts on mommy’s pay back. From the beginning of this whole crazy “let’s have three (boys) as quickly as possible” thing that we 1/2 planned, 1/2 fell into, I’ve been saying “someday this is going to pay off…they’ll be close in age…they’re all the same sex so they’ll all play together and maybe like similar stuff…it will be great”. And you know what? It’s starting to happen more and more. In fact, the boys have all been getting along like peas and carrots lately. They make up games, everyone gets a role and they (mostly) have a great time. Aiden’s got Logan coloring, Logan has Aiden outside playing a game of soccer, Aiden’s making Lego creations for Brady to use…Brady will go along with just about anything or play with his trains. It warms my heart, it makes me smile and best of all, it gives me more free time…to do things like…um…plan their classroom parties, make camping costumes, help plan the school Fall Event…OK fine, it’s still all about taking care of them (which I love, don’t get me wrong), but it’s seriously SO awesome to see them getting along… just like I always 1/2 planned, 1/2 fell into!!
About Me
- Renay
- Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.
