And now...back to Spring (random pictures from today)
Given today's weather, I seriously can not believe that we built a snow man only 3 days ago! The morning was much warmer than the afternoon and I even let the boys play in the water table (although, I filled it with 1/2 outside water and 1/2 warm water from the kitchen sink...which I carried in a big tub outside). I brought out the radio for tunes, we turned on the bubble machine and had a picnic on the lawn. Seriously??!! Our snowman literally finished melting yesterday! I feel like we might actually live on a tiny spec on a flower that is being carried around by a large elephant (anyone else seen Horton Hears a Who?) never mind...
Pictures!!!
Playing with the water table, water guns and the bubble machine It was so nice that the boys asked to take off their coats. I have to laugh because, after being inside all winter, Logan and Aiden complain about the sun being too bright. They say "my eyes aren't used to the outside mommy!" I could only find sunglasses for Aiden. I think Logan turned his into a costume sometime during the snowy months and they are buried in the toys somewhere.

I knew I should have purchased three of these nets last year when I saw them. They are a kid fav (I only have 2 for 3 little boys....learn to share my little ones!!!!!!)
While the boys played, I brought out the supplies we needed to (finally!) finish our egg tree. We needed to search for the perfect branch, but given the unpredictable weather as of late, it wasn't always the best time to go on a "nature hike". We finally found this beauty Tuesday after I picked Logan up from school. In the back area of our subdivision, there are several lots that will be homes someday (someday...when people can afford to build them again I guess) covered in wildlife. Most of the ground cover is tall grass and weeds, but I spotted a fledgling tree out there. Me, Aiden and Logan "hiked" out to the middle of one of the lots (I parked the car on the road and left Bray to watch from the open van door) and grabbed it. I felt sort of sad destroying what should one day be a tree, but it's gonna be knocked down eventually and now its beauty will grace our Easter decor for years to come :)
Then they hung the eggs (ya...they're standing on the patio table...isn't that a normal way to decorate a tree? haha)
During nap time for the little ones, Logan decided to set up this little scene by the front door. It's "Pirates vs Army Guys". Unfortunately, the little people pirate ship only comes with 3 pirates and so Logan grabbed any other little people he could find. He told me that the army guys needed to pirate ship so they were having a battle.
I gave Logan my camera so he could take some pictures. Here is a shot of the pirate brigade which includes: 1 actual pirate, a sea captain who usually drives a boat in our bathtub, a clown and a ticket guy from the little people fairground.

About Me
- Renay
- Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.

I love the egg tree! And I'm thinking you could print out that pirate story and Logan could have his first children's book! :)Totally cute! P.S. I love Horton hears a who! I'm pretty sure we do live on a speck.
YAY, Spring! I agree - we must certainly live on a spec! The egg tree is absolutely adorable. You guys found the PERFECT branch. Karen is so right - Logan is already creating cool children's books! Love his imagination!
