Tips from the 554 AND Buying Peaceful Shopping

I never got around to a post I wanted to do yesterday so now I have two.

Post 1: Tips from the 554

  • Tip 1: If you, like me, frequently "hold" things in your mouth (ie: I usually bite on my key chain "fob" while getting the kids in their car seats, otherwise I just misplace the keys), try to remember NOT to do that with the teething gel. I couldn't feel the corner of my bottom lip there for about 10 minutes and I swear I drooled on myself!
  • Tip 2: Do not yank off a pair of jeans when you know that a child is a. wearing a pull-up and b. has pooped. Pull-ups just do not stay put as well as diapers and....well, the result is a big smear of poo down the legs and in the pants. Sadly, I did it twice before coming to this conclusion!

Post 2: Buying Peaceful Shopping

Pictured below: a box of freeze-dried fruit snack packs. I picked this up at the very start of my Costco trip with the boys this morning. Logan saw me grab them and said, "no mom....don't get those, me and Aiden don't like them." I said, "yes, but Brady does and he's crying so I think I'll let him have one right now". Not to be left out, the other boys sampled a couple as well. It kept them quiet, it made my shopping easier (at least until they reached what I considered a healthy limit of snack packs and cut them off). When I got home, I counted 11 packs in a box which previously contained 20. It costs me 9 fruit snack packs to get through Costco. Ah well...it could be so much worse. They aren't bad for you and, surprisingly, 3 packs is under 120 calories! I just shutter to think about how much food these three are going to rifle through once they hit their teens years. I'm thinking Ramen noodles is about all we'll be able to afford!

You crack me up!! I needed a good laugh this morning and there it was with a teething gel and poop!

Yes, Mom of boys you may as well get used to never having enough food in the house. I'm sure I've told you stories of having the Boughner twins at our house - it was unbelievable!! An entire lasagna gone before you and Denay even got to the table - or so it seemed.

About Me

My photo
Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.
