A Place For Super Heroes to Play

This afternoon we were quite bored so I suggested a project that has been in the back of my mind for quite some time: turn Logan’s closet into a secret hide-out. The boys were all over it! We decided it was for super heroes and for spies. The closet contained an old mattress, a box of 5T cloths and a bunch of assorted other clutter. Logan’s cloths are all contained in a dresser in his room.

Step one was some internet research. My father in law recently gave me a pack of photo paper so we used a bunch of it to print “posters” for the hideout.

BEFORE: Here is the closet with most of the stuff cleanedIMG_2158

FINISHED PROJECT: I hung the boys’ super hero costumes from Halloween on the support bars of the closet shelf. Three of our “posters” were of the boys last Halloween so I hung each photo by it’s appropriate costume. Oh…and Aiden insisted that we print out a lizard poster as wellIMG_2166

The wall on the left has three “spy-themed” posters hanging up high. I am planning to paint a square on that wall with chalk-board paint this weekend…perfect for plotting out hero and spy adventures! We stocked the closet with all caped costumes, blankets (not my idea) and spy gear of course.IMG_2172

Awesome hang-out for super heros. I can just imagine all kinds of bad guys being destroyed by the men of the 554 Super Hero Hang-Out!!

You know what would go great with that? Walkie talkies. All good super heroes and spies must communicate. Ooo..and binoculars. AND shoes that are really a phone.

About Me

My photo
Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.
