Procrastinating Blog Posts

I have been SO slacking on the blog lately, but Brian has been home for the past 2 weeks so we're enjoying some much-needed family time (which includes me not being on the computer very much). I have so many posts floating around in my head right now, but when I cleaned up my camera today, I had to put them all aside in favor of this one.

Every time I take out my camera (which is often), Logan wants to play with it. Sometimes I just let him take it and snap away. He takes TONS of pictures, most of which I delete. I have wanted to do a post for a long time now with some of his shots and I'm sure that I've included a few in the past. There is even one in the last post. The ones on my camera today (which I had not seen until I downloaded everything) were just so fantastic. They made me smile, laugh out loud and then wonder at some of the pure artistic-ness (I know...not a word) of the young eye.

And so now I give you - "The 554 at Christmas Time...a little boy's perspective in pictures":

One of Logan's favorite things to do is to take a picture of himself and then flip the camera around really fast to see it before the display changes. Here he is near the front door of the house. I just started laughing when this one came up on my camera. Especially when I saw all of the others. After his self-portrait, he turned the camera around and did a nice up-shot of the tree and the ceiling.

After that (and after a few more pictures which I deleted), he made his way over to the table beside the tree and took a picture of the fancy shopping snow ladies.

Across the room, on a chair, are three Christmas stuffed animals (that sounds so funny....like they are stuffed WITH Christmas....but you know what I mean). He shot each individually. First cookie man....

...then snow man (who apparently refused to cooperate and turned his carrot nose to the side)...

...and then finally Christmas bear.

One more shot of himself.....

Next, he flipped the camera around and took a picture of the formal dining room before heading on to see what else he could find (PS: that light above the dining room table is being replaced this weekend - YEAH!)

Here is Logan on his way from the front of the house to the back of the house and the family room.

This is what the couch looks like from his vantage point.

And here's what it looks like when a little boy stands next to the couch and looks at the pillows.

He must have borrowed my camera a couple times that day because now it's night time and here is Logan's view as he enters the kitchen area....and there is mommy doing....whatever mommies do all day I guess. (embarrassingly, it looks like we might have gotten take-out that night. I think it was mushroom chicken from Panda Express....every one's favorite - especially Logan!)

Now it's back to the front of the house and the tree. (the light in the foyer is getting replaced too....as soon as I can find someone with a ladder that is tall enough!)

Thank you Logan for sharing your view of the house at Christmas :)

About Me

My photo
Stories about BRLAB: Brian & Renay, two relatively sane parents, and our three adorable, but active boys: Logan - 9, Aiden - 7 and Brady - 6. I started this blog to document our adventures and milestones for those family members who are far away and can't always share the fun in person. This blog has become my way to keep track of everything in the lives of my growing boys - from the super big stuff that seems the most important to the small things that probably really ARE the most important. I always include tons of pictures because I plan to make a book out of the blog on a yearly basis. Time flies by so fast, I can only hope that these posts will help us remember all the wonderful and silly times we have together as a family.
